Jacks ("V") feature famous ministers such as Richelieu and Necker. The ordinal cards feature important dates in French history.

The cards themselves have French markings.
"R" (for "Roi") is King.
"D" (for "Dame") is Queen.
"V" (for "Valet") is Jack.
